Topic 4– Interpretaton :
Process of Application
Questions:
1.Do you know how many panels the top you are wearing has?
2.How do fashion designers draw technical garment blueprints? Have you ever seen those drawings? It is like a blueprint of garment and called as flat sketches.
Project Description & Criteria
Questions:
1.You found amazing details from historical costume, then how would you apply them to your garment design drawn at topic 3?
2.You also found interesting organic shapes from pictures of nature, and then, how would you reinterpret them to apply to your garment?
Learning Objective:
Based on the visual elements you choose from historical costumes and organic shapes, you will be able to illustrate and explain your own version shapes and the process of developing the ideas.
•Before you start working, please read the rubric for this topic 4 carefully.
•Draw about 3 steps of each idea sketch showing re-formation and reinterpretation of your raw resources of historical costume details and the organic shapes you chose. (You can choose garment details or organic shape's reinterpretation, or both)
•There must be some recognizable visual elements constantly appearing through all steps.
•After completing the sketch, please place some notes indicating your design concept embedded into your design.
•However, for this topic, you don’t need to apply them to your garment drawing from topic 3, and that is, just drawing the details is fine. However, if you want to use the garment drawing from topic 3, that is also fine.
•Submit and post your assignment in PDF format into the external Wiki site linked at the Submission page (also, please see above, the menu bar to find it). And, please give comments and critique actively to your peers (your content of critique will not be graded).
